| Calumet is comprised of two product lines: Calumet Abrasives, which specializes in custom-cutting wheels, and Hummer Abrasives, maker of quick, reliable, off-the-shelf cutting wheels. |
| Problem-solving the Key to Our Unique Solutions |
| Calumet Abrasives was founded in 1945 by George Anderson, a chemical engineer whose strength was solving industrial applications problems. The company’s strategic location in a region with a high concentration of large industrial companies helped establish Calumet as a solution-driven manufacturer whose wheels outperformed those made by the leading grinding wheel manufacturers. |
| Calumet later expanded beyond the local market when it started working with process piping companies that were building refineries in the area. Working with welders in the field, Calumet created the Welderaser line of products to answer the specific needs of chemical and oil corporations. |
| Hummer Abrasives became part of Calumet in January 2007. |
